Region guide

• The closest airport to Lake Como is Milan. You can either take the train or drive from Milan airport to Como.

• Most Lake Como towns are well connected by ferry, so no matter what area of Lake Como you stay in, you can get around fairly easily via the ferry. Just note that ferries stop running the early evening, so you should plan to be back at your hotel before dinner; taxis are quite expensive and rather difficult to procure.

• If you want to be in the middle of the action, we would recommend staying in a larger town that’s easy to get to/from like Como (biggest), Bellagio (most popular/touristy), Moltrasio, Cernobbio, or Menaggio.

• If you want peace and quiet, we recommend staying in a smaller town such as Torno or Lezzeno.
